Artisans & Workshops
ZikoAfrika pieces are made using a mixture of traditional techniques, such as sand casting and thread-beading, and new/enhanced production methods that improve efficiency, quality standards, and safety. Fair production is central to our brand ethos, so we only work directly with artisan entrepreneurs or engage producers who pay their employees a living wage. Over the past three years we have established relationships with workshops that provide valuable employment and training opportunities for artisans in Kenya.
Artisan Fashion works with community groups with traditional beading and casting skills. They help provide stable employment and training opportunities for artisans.
Peter Ekitela trained under Kenyan jeweller Sally Dudmesh for 7 years, becoming a master silversmith. We work closely with Peter to develop and produce Perspex and brass pieces.
Blessed Graphics provides perspex cutting services in the heart of Nairobi. We work with them to develop design concepts and manage production of Perspex components.Find out more about our materials and processes.
